Prospective StudentsOne of the strongest aspects of an FBC education is the potential each student has for a special relationship with his instructors. The FBC administration considers the role of the school in mentoring its students to be a very important one. For this reason, the small size of most FBC classes is a benefit to the student. In this venue the students of FBC enjoy a unique opportunity to enter into the kind of relationships with their instructors which lead to significant discipleship opportunities for their lives. Christian Service (Field Education) Each FBC student is required to become involved in a significant ministry (one or more hours per week) of evangelizing the lost or strengthening the Church during the entire length of his career as an FBC student. Students must have their field ed ministries approved by the coordinator of academic affairs each semester, and weekly Field Ed Reports must be filled out and returned to his office. Standards of Conduct All FBC students are required to comply with the following codes of conduct: As explicitly taught in Scripture, drunkenness/illicit drug use, occult involvement, physical violence, profanity, sexual immorality (including the use of pornography), stealing and dishonesty are inappropriate for Christians. These behaviors will be regarded as grounds for expulsion. In the interest of nurturing corporate and individual spiritual growth, students are required to conduct themselves cautiously in all areas of the Christian life. Student apparel must portray the Christian virtues of modesty and discipline. The student’s choice of music, entertainment and leisure activities must portray the Christian virtues of intelligence, gentleness and purity. Active fellowship with a local evangelical church must be maintained. Attitudes of envy, rebellion, resentment, pride, temper, prejudice and laziness must be avoided. If the administration deems the student to be in violation of the spirit of the FBC community in any of these matters, discipline and/or expulsion will result. |
