Mathematical Concepts and Reasoning

This course shows how understanding mathematics as language allows students to enhance their ability to learn and apply mathematical reasoning in the student's life and work. These language skills include the ability to read with comprehension, to express mathematical ideas, to reason logically, and to recognize and employ common patterns of mathematical thought. Topics covered include problem solving, critical thinking, logic, number theory, functions, graph theory, probability, measurement, and statistics. This course is best suited for students in religious programs of study.
