History

In the fall of 1995, Dr. B. Hathaway Struthers and Dr. Kennard S. Brackney, Sr., both seasoned Christian educators, collaborated with Tabernacle Church of Norfolk to launch Faith Bible College.  Initially,  the college was known as the Hampton Roads Center for Learning and later as the Hampton Roads School of Biblical Studies.  Dr. Struthers brought with him 21 years of experience as a Navy Chaplain and 18 years of experience as a professor and administrator at Columbia International University. Dr. Brackney brought with him many years of experience at Pinebrook Junior College, Washington Bible College, and Capital Bible Seminary.

During the ensuing years, courses have been offered at sites throughout the greater Hampton Roads area from Williamsburg to Virginia Beach. In 2002, FBC granted its first Associate Degree in Biblical Studies. Gifted and degree appropriate faculty have enabled FBC to offer a biblically centered curriculum with dynamic spiritual fervor and academic excellence.

The Lord has helped us grow and expand with an increasing student body and a growing, knowledgeable and godly faculty.  In 2014, FBC moved into its current location in the heart of Hampton Roads.  With classrooms, office spaces, and a library with both physical and computer resources, this new area increases FBC's opportunities for multiple courses and provides an avenue for deeper research into the Word of God.

FBC now enjoys partnerships with a number of conservative, evangelical churches of various denominations in the greater Hampton Roads area. The FBC executive board includes business professionals, university professors as well as prominent church and para-church leaders throughout the area.
