Meet Our Administrative FacultyThe FBC faculty includes some of the region's finest pastors and educators, most of whom hold earned masters or doctor degrees in their fields. Each faculty member is committed to providing a quality biblical education and is dedicated to our college mission. Several faculty members teach classes at the churches they pastor, or in one of our church training centers. Our faculty members are Godly people, who take an interest in our students' academic achievement as well as their walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. In Memory. Dr. Brackney, co-founder of FBC, served as a seasoned educator with over forty years of academic and pastoral experience. He graduated from the University of Maryland (BS and M.Ed), Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div.), and earned a Ph.D. in higher education administration from Old Dominion University. Dr. Brackney held teaching and administrative positions for the Maryland Public School System and Pinebrook Junior College. He also directed the Norfolk extension of Washington Bible College, and served as the chief academic and administrative officer for Capital Bible Seminary. Dr. Brackney planted churches in Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia. He served as a consultant and interim pastor for churches throughout the Hampton Roads area. B. Hathaway Struthers, PhD
Dr. Struthers, co-founder and President Emeritus of FBC, has enjoyed more that five decades of full-time Christian service. He is a graduate of Bob Jones University (BS, MA) and the College of William & Mary (M.S.), and he received his PhD from Bob Jones University in Old Testament and Old Testament languages. After serving as a US Navy Chaplain for 21 years, Dr. Struthers accepted a position on the faculty of Columbia Bible College (now Columbia International University). At CIU, Dr. Struthers served for 18 years in positions of both faculty and dean. He was a contributing editor for the Modern English Bible and serves of a variety of ministry boards including the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Dr. David Rieke, Acting President and Academic Dean, has been in full-time Christian ministry since 1991. A graduate of Moody Bible Institute, Arizona College of the Bible, and Talbot Seminary, Dr. Rieke received his Doctor of Ministry degree from Liberty University in 1997. After ministering in church planting for several years, he accepted a call to pastor Avalon Hills Bible Church in Virginia Beach, VA with a growing congregation of over 200 members. Dr. Rieke has most of the New Testament Epistles committed to memory and has a growing reputation as a Bible teacher. Terry W. Spencer, BDiv
Terry Spencer comes to Faith Bible College with a background in pastoral and Bible college education ministry that spans almost forty years. His education includes degrees from Bible Baptist Seminary, B.Div., Wayne State University, B.A., and Baptist Christian University, D.Hum.(Hon.) He serves the College as its Provost and instructor in several classes. He is the current pastor of Park Place Baptist Church in Norfolk. |
